Loving and Trusting in the Lord Fully

Sometimes it seems like we will never cross that finish line. What we want to accomplish in life may seem impossible most of the time due to delay or the level of difficulty that is endured, but through patience and perseverance, we have the opportunity to receive everything that’s waiting for us at the end of that season. God tells us, “blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him” (James 1:12, ESV). Perseverance not only requires patience, but it requires loving and trusting in the Lord fully. Despite the delay or difficulty that you may encounter, the reality is that hard work pays off in the end, no matter what you are working towards. The finish line may be closer than you think. God’s got you, just be patient and continue to persevere, and allow him to handle the rest. “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit” (Ecclesiastes 7:8, KJV).  A patient heart pleases the Lord, but it takes time to develop. In most cases, it’s impossible to do alone, but as believers, we know that we are never alone. The journey is not easy, but the Lord makes it worth it.

A Joyful Heart is Good Medicine

We get asked often about how we manage to stay so happy. A lot of people appear to be confused about how or why there always appears to be a smile on our faces when they see us. Now, obviously, we are not always smiling 24/7, but how often we do is unfathomable to some people. Thinking about that kind of makes us sad, but we want to remind you that, “a joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” (Proverbs 17:22, ESV). Our joy should come from the Lord, and smiling is just something that can’t be helped for us, especially since we have so many reasons to do so. Even if you don’t think you have a reason to smile right now, turn to God for clarity because he is rooting for you, as are we! A joyful heart is not developed overnight, but one day at a time is where we start.
